Chain slings
At any enterprise there is a need to move goods. Operating conditions for cargo equipment vary. At enterprises in the chemical, steel, and mechanical engineering industries, chain slings are used as load grippers.
They are made from lightweight alloy steel. Thanks to the use of such material, manufacturers were able to reduce the weight of slings while maintaining high load capacity.
Such slings can be represented by round link chains of the third or eighth class.
Among the variety of lifting devices, chain slings occupy not the least place. A special feature of these devices is the ability to use them in a fairly aggressive environment.
Purpose

Chain slings are equipped with hanging, construction and other working elements.
Chain slings are characterized by a long service life, increased strength, and can easily cope with lifting and moving any loads.
Peculiarities
Chain slings have the following advantages:
safety margin is 4 to 1;
exceptional flexibility of slings, which makes it possible to use various types of slings;
such slings can be used in difficult conditions;
do not require the use of protective pads when working with certain types of cargo;
wide operating temperature range: from -40C to +40C;
fairly compact load-handling device;
the length of the chain sling branches can be adjusted;
slings are subject to repair;
after removing the load they show no signs of deformation.
Conditions of use
Only technically sound devices are allowed for use. In this regard, chain slings require periodic inspection for defects and various types of damage.
In order to avoid sudden breaks during operation, chain slings with steel wear of more than 10% in diameter are prohibited for use. Also, lifting devices in which more than 30% of the links are deformed are not suitable for use. Chain slings are not resistant to sudden dynamic loads.
In the current year 2023, the pricing policy for this type of slings has not changed. Manufacturers can equip chain slings with non-standard hinged links and load-handling mechanisms. Chain slings are also produced, combined with other types of load grippers.
