Load grips, load-handling devices

Load grips are various designs of removable devices that fix loads in a certain position for their subsequent movement.

Purpose and device

Load grips act as a connecting link between the load and the mechanism that is designed to lift and move it.

Such grippers can work with any type of moving objects. These can be round barrels, flat sheets of corrugated sheets, non-lifting rails, cable reels and much more. Load-handling devices consist of a direct load-handling element, a load-bearing rod or rope and a hinged element, with the help of which hanging or connection to lifting mechanisms is carried out.

Load grippers are distinguished by their relatively simple, easy and quick replacement of one device with another. In addition, it is allowed to supplement one device with some components of another. This results in a load gripper with great functionality.

Types of load grippers

All lifting devices can be divided into several categories:

Simple gripping devices that are flexible and rigid. They are equipped with special devices at the ends, such as hooks and eye bolts.

Universal lifting devices combine devices made of steel ropes and chains of unlimited length. Such means, lifting the load, capture it using the strapping method.

Specialized load-handling devices that are adapted to work with a specific type of cargo. All load grippers in this category are mechanized. The use of such devices allows for the most efficient use of lifting mechanisms.

Control method

To carry out unloading and loading operations, control of load-handling devices can be manual, automatic or remote.

When choosing cargo grips, you need to pay attention to the way the device is rotated. The load grippers can rotate freely along with the hook on which it is hung. These are the so-called free-rotating ones. Depending on the place of use and type of cargo, forced rotating ones can also be used. Such load grippers are controlled by a crane operator. They can only rotate with the help of an additional special rotating mechanism.

Operating principle

All lifting devices differ in their operating principle. In this regard, there is the following gradation of structures:

tick-borne;

fork;

screw;

eccentric;

rocker;

wedge;

magnetic;

vacuum;

pin-sling.

This classification is conditional. Today, in most cases, combined solutions are used.

The pricing policy in 2021 for devices for cargo gripping is formed depending on the type of cargo gripper, design features and its principle of operation.
