What is a manual hoist

The hoist refers to hanging devices for moving various loads. There are two types of mechanisms:

manual;

with automatic drive.

The manual hoist is designed for lifting loads weighing up to 20,000 kilograms. The working height range is from 3 to 12 meters.

Design features

The design of a manual hoist is a connection of two blocks and a chain or metal cable. One of the blocks is movable, the second is not. The lifting device ends with a hook on which the load is placed.

Depending on the number of pulleys in the blocks, two-, three-, four-, six-, eight-, ten- and twelve-pulley hoists are distinguished. Each of them creates a twofold increase in lifting force and the same reduction in the distance over which the device can lift a load.

There are two types of manual hoists:

lever;

with drive chain.

The first is used primarily for moving small loads. With the help of such a mechanism, loads move horizontally. The second type of manual hoist is designed for working with large-sized cargo. This is the best option for large rooms. It can be installed permanently, or you can use a mobile version. The fixed mechanism moves loads only vertically. The second option can be used for both vertical and horizontal movement.

When assembling a manual hoist, one of two types of gearboxes is used:

gear, which are capable of providing significantly higher speed of movement;

worm gear, characterized by increased running accuracy.

The use of such a lifting mechanism is permissible in temperatures from -40C to +40C.

The manual hoist is deformed and susceptible to corrosion in a chemically aggressive environment. This mechanism cannot be used to move explosive substances and hot metals.
