Sometimes it is necessary to move delicate cargo from one place to another. Chain or rope slings are not suitable for such operations. They can damage the transported value. The ideal solution to this problem is the use of textile slings.
Description of textile slings
Textile slings have gained popularity for their versatility. With minimal dimensions and fairly low weight, such devices transport a variety of loads.
Slings made of textiles are not subject to aggressive environmental influences; chemicals cannot harm such products. Thanks to this, such devices can be used in absolutely any environment.
Each sling made of textile materials undergoes a control test on a bench. A load of 125% of the standard values is applied to the product. After such tests, each sling receives a serial number. The quality and safety of work using these devices is confirmed by a passport.
Types of textile slings
Among professionals, textile slings are divided into two groups:
tape;
orbicularis.
Textile belt slings consist of two belt layers. They are made of a special tape that can withstand certain loads. The width of the slings can vary from 30mm to 30cm. The lifting tape is sewn with heavy-duty threads. In this case, a certain algorithm is used.
Circular slings
The design of circular textile slings is a kind of sleeve-shell. This round, closed-loop safety mechanism is made from high-strength strands of polyester material. The load capacity of the sling depends on the number of such strands.
Such slings have some advantages over other similar mechanisms:
the lifting capacity of the slings can reach 1000 tons;
their production does not require much time;
service life is significantly increased due to the circular design;
more affordable price.
The safety factor of round-strand slings varies from 6 to 8.
Interesting facts about textile slings
